Helen Schucman, a psychologist from the Columbia University, started to write down things that she claimed that she could hear from Jesus itself and, it was over 40 years ago and now the texts that she wrote has been published into a book, "A Course in Miracles". Helen had an assistant and named William Thetford, who had then helped her to type down what she wrote after hearing the revelations. She was able to write several things for around seven years and it was later published as a book for the people to read and experience.
When some individuals are not able to understand what is written in A Course of Miracles, it is not because the language of the book is tough or it is confusing. Instead the book is written in very simple language, but because some people lack having spiritual knowledge it becomes difficult for them to follow the book and learn from it. Just like it is said in the bible, the light shines in the darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it.
Even people with spiritual understanding are found to go through several books that denote the presence of God, such as the Bible, the Bhagwad Gita, couple of Upanishads, The Quran and even the poetries written by Kabir and Rumi. However not any of the Books can comply with the greatness of the book A Course in Miracles.
Reading the book can also help you to get rid of all your fears and troubles, only when you have an open mind and heart. Once you go through the books you are able to increase the feeling of love in you, you get a lot of experience and strong belief about things that you didn't knew before. You start to feel better about you and the people around you, not only for the individuals that you love but you feel the same for every individual you ever had a fight with.
This thought simply arises because you are trying to choose between the wrong sides of our mind. The right mind of the Holy Spirit is neither found in the 'right side' and the 'wrong side' of Ego. For example, you have decided to do something that is worth it, it shall be done or it would be. You must stop thinking about it again and again turning them to Holy Spirit for correction instead.
It is ACIM that tries to make people believe in the right and wise things, beliefs and behaviour, it also depicts that nothing can cause harm to you until and unless you believe it can. The modern day promoters have successfully grabbed on this beliefs, as because the modern day religions are based more on the power of one's own mind and spirit and not on the sins and redemptions.
The teachings and lessons provided by ACIM teaches the individuals, how they can avoid anger and negative emotions, which gets a lot into our mind and often lead to several problems in our life. It either creates illness or unhappiness on a regular basis.
According to Jesus, one first only judge a tree by its fruit that is also mentioned in the Course in Miracles, when you check how the fruits taste in your life, if you like it you can continue, if not then you can stop reading A Course in Miracles. However if you are able to see changes in your life after reading the texts, then you can continue reading it more and increase your experience about life, truth and peace and joy.
