There are certain legalities, moralities, and religious aspects that are addressed regarding this situation.
Giving equal rights and recognition for same sex couples have in no way harmed and infringed the rights of other people. For it to be called equal rights, what the majority is experiencing and enjoying should also hold true for the minority in terms of same sex legal marriage. This is all about protecting the rights of people as a whole.
