The Casting Calls Nyc Residents Can Attend Are Many

By Sally Delacruz

If you are one of those who are able to act, dance or do modeling but do not know how to get into the industry, casting calls NYC can help. They are always looking for new and fresh faces. They will be able to connect you with auditions and jobs that will suit you.

As with any interview it will give a good impression if you are on time, preferably at least 10 minutes earlier. If one is late it is considered the kiss of death. If traffic is not the mad rush you thought it would be, rather wait outside or in the lobby until your time to be there is up. If you are unsure of where the place is, use your GPS and it will estimate your time of arrival.

Whether you have already submitted your photo on line always take some extras with you. They need to be the most up-to-date ones as any that are older than a month will not be considered. A professional photo is not necessarily needed as long as the snapshots looks like you do in person.

Don't feel overwhelmed when entering the interview room as there are likely to be more than one person in attendance. Try to remain relaxed and always be prepared and organized. Keep a pen and paper handy for anything that you may want to remember and jot down. They are aware that this is nerve wrecking and will try to make you feel at ease.

When making your modeling portfolios only use those photos that bring out your best features. There should be some photos of you in a swimming costume and an evening dress as well as every day to day wear. The agents are not interested in going through stacks of different pictures. Never leave any little notes in the back of your book as the agents will go through everything that is given to them.

Always make sure that the agency you are using is well known. Always and only use reputable modeling agencies and don't use any freelancing that was advertised on the internet. If you are under 18 years of age, you are allowed to take along someone but they are required to wait in the lobby. If you have never met the person before and are unsure then by all means take someone so that you feel more safe but also not allowed past the front door.

If you are going to get a part in a film you will be required to prepare a one minute monologue. Do not go over that time as you will be stopped early. Every time you practice keep track of the time with a stopwatch. In some instances you will even be asked to participate in an improv exercise or be given a script that you will need to read out aloud to them.

Be professional when leaving your voice mail message, make it short and simply. Agents do not have time to wait for a three minute introduction. Casting calls in NYC will be able to tell you which agencies are reputable. You don't want to end up as a statistic because you didn't take the time to find out which ones were trustworthy first.
